Is 18 too late to start learning drums?
My family is shit poor right now and there is absolutely no way they can afford me even a pair of drumsticks right now...I am 17 at the moment and played drums in middle school for 3 years in the school band but I have not even touched a drum kit ever since. I don't think I would want to go pro or anything but I want to practice music again. When I was in middle school I half assed it all so I doubt my experience from then would help at all. I am planning to go look for a job soon and by 18 I will most likely have a job... I was never fortunate enough to have a family that could afford me lessons or instruments at a young age and that is so not an excuse but I truly want to learn drums now. I want the experience, I don't know about going pro but....If I start playing drums at 18, is it possible I will be good enough to play in a band in university or college?A lot of people I know are saying I am too old to learn an instrument
When learning drums is it best to start trying to play a song or look up video lessons first?
I've been playing for 7 months I haven't learned a full song but I've learned parts of atleast 35 songs I'm self taught should I be looking up lessons of just listen to a song study the beat then look up it's tab which is what I do?
Would learning drums be easy for me?
I do abit of dancing for fun and most of the time it takes me less then a few days to learn a 5min song thats upbeat and catchy, im not expecting to learn how to play instantly, just would it be something i might be good at learning at?step dad plays drums is a teacher
Learning drums soon, Question?
I got a book, Don't remember what It's called But It's a drum book a guy wrote about beginners learning drums to Metallica.. Yet this guy says In the book you need a double bass and a huge set etc. 1. I'm not rich, I can't get a huge set.. I'm getting a small beginner set.2. I can't get a double bass either Not even a double pedal. So what do you suggest? Just continue on trying to learn with what I have?Because clearly this guy Is not thinking about BEGINNER beginners.

Interested In Learning Drums...?
I'm very interested in saving up a few of my next paychecks to purchase myself a drum set. I've always wanted to always learn an instrument, but the Alto Saxophone in 6th grade wasn't exactly my thing p I'm only a junior in high school, as I just turned 17 earlier this month. I know it's never too late to learn something new, but I'd rather not wait much longer. So the question What would be a good drum set to learn on that I can also keep using when i have some time under my belt? I'm looking to spend $600 at the very most. I know that isn't much for a set, but I'm hoping it can buy me a decent one. I'm going to be more interested in learning drum covers of songs by my favorite bands, but I know i need to start somewhere. When I learn what I need to begin playing some songs by my favorite bands, they consist of alot of double bass and drum fills. Just a little background on my interests so maybe this will help answering my question NOTE Favorite bands All That RemainsEmmureDance Gavin DanceFor TodayMiss May I CarnifexBury TomorrowThe Crimson ArmadaMy Children My Brideect.
Can anyone give me advice for learning Drums?
I have just started learning drums on an alesis dm6 and I would greatly appreciate any and all advice that you can give me. I have been playing rock band for years but I just got a real set. The part I am having the most trouble with is the base pedal I only have a single and playing fast and moving around the set if you can understand what I mean . Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
What should someone just wanna learn drums start with Acoustic or Electric?
I wanna learn Drums but I wanna know if it would make a big difference if I learned Electric drums first? I know it doesn't feel the same and it cant compare to learning the real thing but will it throw me off learning electric ? especially if sometime i get Acoustic drums sometime later? I have some noise issues rite now , and that is why acoustic is harder for me to get I'd only be able to play after school probably until 7 30 pm but with electric I'd be able to play anytime. But I'd love to have the opinion from a Professional drummer or one who has lots of experience.
