Whats the best drumsticks to practice playing the snare drum with?
Im im my high schools marching band, freshman and currently and learning advanced snare rudiments. I purchased a vic firth double sided practice pad, but none of the sticks i have feel right on them, they're mostly concert sticks light and thin . So i was wondering what the best sticks for practicing would be?
Snare Drum Tuning for Post-Hardcore Music?
I am a 5 year drummer that plays stuff on the drums such as The Devil Wears Prada, A Day To Remember, Pierce The Veil, and Attack Attack . I have noticed that when listening and playing along to their songs that all of the drummers' snare drums sound flat but still have the snare in them without the overtones. Is there a way to achieve that kind of sound without any crazy affects? it has been bothering me for a couple months now but i love that kind of snare drum sound.Note If i need to buy Moon Gel then i certainly will for eliminating overtones and if it matters the dimensions of my snare drum are 14x6. Where can I get a custom marching snare drum?
I want a custom made marching snare with a custom Pokemon wrap on it kinda like Adventure Drums Brad Davis' TMNT Drum Kit . I was wonder where I could get someone to make me one. Does anyone know if Truth, Dark Horse, Shine, or SJC make marching snares? Thanks in advance
